In In Holy Communion, we are eating the True Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, without which "you shall not have life in you."
Eucharistic Devotions
Besides the Celebration of the Eucharist there are other devotions that increase our awareness of the Eucharist through Eucharistic Adoration in which we adore and praise Jesus living in the Sacramant of His Body and Blood.

The Ordinary Sacrament of forgiveness is the Holy Eucharist.
However, if we have sinned grievously (mortally) we must
first receive the Extraordinary Sacrament of forgiveness;
The Church encourages us to receive the Sacrament of
Penance often even in the case of confessing less serous sin
(venial).
St. Paul explains that if we receive the Sacrament of the
Eucharist unworthily, we eat & drink judgement unto
ourselves. 1 Corinthians 11:27-29
The Eucharist is "the source and summit of the Christian life. The other sacraments, and indeed all ecclesiastical ministries and works of the apostolate, are bound up with the Eucharist and are oriented toward it. For in the blessed Eucharist is contained the whole spiritual good of the Church, namely Christ himself, our Pasch.
