The Sacrament of Marriage
Enriches the life of the couple with a special Grace from God so that they may love and respect each other and bring into existence a family based on the principles of Christ and His Church
Guidelines for Weddings
Every church has specific policies
for conducting weddings.
Some of these directives are based on Universal Church policies,
some are based on diocesan policies
and some are based on a particular parish policies.
It is good to remember that a wedding lasts only a day. A marriage lasts a lifetime. During the months of preparation, couples should spend more time developing their relationship together in Christ and less on the wedding day.
The Mentoring Process
Since the Sacrament of Marriage
binds two people together in Christ for a lifetime,
the Church has a certain responsibility
to make sure the couple is well informed
about the commitment they are about to make
to eachother and the Christ.
For this reason the church provides
a marriage mentoring process.
